Wildflower Mural
16"h x 28"w x 1/2" Wildflower Mural
(27) 4" x 4" x 1/2" thick hand molded and hand painted in majolica underglaze.
Technique: underglaze chalk and majolica painted on handmade white bisque tiles(k), with a clear gloss glaze over - fired to cone 06
Signed by the artist in 1995 when it was painted. Majolica underglaze makes the tile painting last for " forever".
This mural is reduced by $1000 from the other twin sister listed Wildflower Mural because of the glue on back of some tiles. There is a chip on tile #1 bottom left corner and another almost unnoticeable chip on same tile left side. On tile # 5 there is a very small chip at bottom of tile on left, and glaze over it. Tile #21 top right there is a couple of natural unnoticeable crackles in the glaze. Pictures shown on this listing. You are paying for the signature, and an original piece of fine art on hand molded ceramic tile. Once grouted these chips or character flaws are not noticeable.
There are many other murals offered without the signature for a fraction of this priced mural.
All of Jamies ceramic tile stovetop murals increase the resale and market value of any home, once the home sells, the original owners become repeat customers and reorder the same mural for their next home. There is two of these murals and this considerably less than the other due to the glue on the back of some tiles.
For this particular piece of artwork you may want to consider mounting it to a 3/4" piece of hardwood or quality plywood and frame it as you would canvas and hang it as you would any painting, and not installing it. This way you will be able to use it as a backsplash mural, yet take it with you when you sell your home. It was mounted before on an inferior piece of wood, and removed, and why there is glue on the back of some of the tiles.
This mural is signed by the artist in 1995, boxed and stored for 25 years and has undetermined intrinsic value.
All the mural tiles are number coded for easy installation and stamped and signed by the artist.
This is 1/2 - "two of a kind" and will not be reproduced again - they are the last ones.
