Fruit On The Vine Mural
16"h x 20"w x 1/4" Fruit on The Vine Mural
(20) 4" x 4" white bisque ceramic tile, with clear gloss glaze.
This is a 'high red" very colorful mural in majolica underglaze fired at cone 06. You can see the layers of red that make some of the fruit look dimensional.
You will be able to find molding or trim pieces that come close to the background color of the mural at any tile shop.
Signed by the artist in 1993 when it was painted. Majolica underglaze makes the tile painting last for " forever".
All of Jamie's ceramic tile stove top murals increase the resale and market value of any home, once the home sells, the original owners become repeat customers and reorder the same mural for their next home. If you love this mural and not the price, you can make an offer at any time. It is priced high because of the signature and the high reds, a near impossibility in majolica underglaze ceramic paintings. The paint must be layered over and over before the kiln fire.
For this particular piece of artwork you may want to consider mounting it to a 3/4" piece of hardwood or quality plywood and frame it as you would canvas and hang it as you would any painting, and not installing it. This way you will be able to use it as a backsplash mural, yet take it with you when you sell your home. It was mounted before on an inferior piece of wood, and removed, and why there is glue on the back of some of the tiles.
All the mural tiles are number coded for easy installation and stamped and signed by the artist.
This is 1/1 - "one of a kind" and will not be reproduced again - there were several of these painted and sold through Waverly Tile, this is the last one.
For less expensive unsigned murals go to CERAMIC TILE & STONE VESTIGES in store.
The purchase of this piece of art plants 300 trees in the new owners name or their recipients name where they are needed the most through onetreeplanted.org
