Chickens to Market
Chickens To Market - framed majolica underglaze painting 31"high x 35" wide, including frame.
Similar to "Mother an Child", this is one of the first tile paintings Jamie has ever created in 1992. It is a masterpiece of color with the high chroma reds which are nearly impossible to create in the majolica technique. It takes many layers of the reds and in this mural those thick layers were painted into the intricate patterns, the chicken's wattle and comb and the border surrounding the mural.
The majolica technique is extremely durable, will never fade or discolor, it cannot be scratched and will last forever.
This painting was in the Tile & Stone World Trade Show in 1994, and has been crated and stored for the last 28 years. It is part of the artists personal collection of ceramic hand painted artwork. It is painted on white bisque with a high gloss clear glaze over the paints and kiln fired to 1860 degrees. It is grouted and in perfect condition.
Although Jamie neglected to sign this piece before it was kiln fired and mounted, it is virtually impossible to do so after. The artist will however write a hand written letter, stamped and notarized to its authenticity of being one of her original pieces of artwork on ceramic tile.
Jamie sees this piece lifting our senses and will undoubtedly become a conversation piece. The mural can be hung anywhere in the home, living room, study, foyer, bedroom, entryway, library etc. This piece would also compliment your dining area or kitchen. If the frame was removed your tile person could install it into the wall behind behind your special stove. It would be a great selling point to your home, if you were selling.
This Fine Art Piece goes beautifully with "Mother and Child". Intended as a set of 2, they were painted at the same time with the same color palette and subject style. They both are framed in the same quality frame. Both sold together will be at a discounted price of $100,000.00.
This is 1/1 - "one of a kind" was the only one EVER painted - there will never be another.
